Keratin and flat cell filaments make up the hair. The hair has a long, strand-like appearance because the filaments are long. Hair growth and survival are three distinct stages. These stages are anagen (catagen), telogen, and final. Hair grows on all parts of the body, except for the soles of our feet, palms and hands, eyelids, and lips.

Hair Growth

Hair growth in men is more than that of women. The male hormone testosterone stimulates or promotes hair growth. Although women tend to have less body hair than men, some women may have more growth due to hormonal imbalances. Women may find body hair embarrassing and may resort to waxing, hair removal lotions, and shaving. It can also add to a man’s sex appeal.

Both men and women care about their hair today, but not so much about their body hair. Everyone wants shiny, healthy hair. It adds a tenfold to their appearance. Most people fear graying, thinning, or balding of hair. It makes them look older and can also make us appear less attractive.

Many factors

Factors such as genetics, hormonal imbalance, hairstyling gels or curl irons, and unsuitable pH of the water used to wash can all affect the normal cyclic process that causes hair loss.
