    Are there Migraines without Headaches?

    Imagine that you are experiencing all the symptoms of a headache but not having migraines. It may seem unlikely, as migraines are a type of headache that causes throbbing and pulsating pain. It is possible to have a migraine and not have a headache. It is possible. It is possible, and it is known as a silent migraine. This type of migraine doesn’t have a headache as a symptom.

    Silent Migraine

    Although it may seem contradictory, a silent migraine is a real phenomenon.

    • The prodrome is the first phase. This is your warning sign that you are experiencing a migraine attack. This phase can cause a change in your mental state, and you may feel extremely irritable.
    • The aura is the second phase. This is an unusual visual symptom that lasts for one hour.
    • The third phase is headache pain. You may feel it as a throbbing or pulsating sensation on one of your sides.
    • The final phase is where you may feel fatigued and malaise for up to 24 hours after the pain has subsided.

    These are not the only phases that migraines go through. Some people don’t feel any warning signs that a migraine is approaching. They skip the prodome phase. Sometimes there are migraines that don’t cause headaches, and sometimes they do. There are migraines with and without aura. This is what I experience. I skip the aura phase. It can be unpredictable and vary from person to person. Without headache, migraines can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, food cravings as well as increased urination, chills, fatigue, and increased thirst. This type of migraine can be caused by emotional and physical stress, caffeine, alcohol, extreme heat, cold, or migraine trigger foods like chocolate, nuts, and pickles.

    • First, keep a daily log of your symptoms and the times it began and ended.
    • Second, talk to your doctor about it.

    • Fourth, prevent migraines from occurring.
    • Take care of yourself. It is well-known that migraines can be avoided by reducing stress, getting enough sleep, and eating healthy meals without migraine trigger foods.
