You may feel thirsty, nauseated or overheated at times. You might feel as if you are about to fall. It may be difficult to walk, or to get out of a chair. The brain signals the heart to slow down, send blood blood to the legs and arms, and lower blood pressure. This is when your legs feel heavy.
Types
There are two types low blood pressure. Orthostatic intolerance is most common in middle-aged women. Orthostatic hypotension is a condition that affects older people over 60 years of age. Get at least 8 glasses of water each day. It helps maintain normal blood pressure. Salt- To maintain normal blood pressure, people avoid salt.
Low blood pressure patients can eat a lot of salt. Salt can raise blood pressure so eat as much salt as possible. Avoid crowds as you may feel dizziness or heaviness.
What to do?
- Enjoy a sweet tooth. Start your day with something sweet, or more sugar in your tea/coffee. You can eat as many sweets as you like, unless you have diabetes. Sweets can give you more energy and instantly normalize your blood pressure.
- Sit at home in a low chair so that your knees are higher than your chest. This increases blood pressure by sending blood to the heart. Gravitation pulls down blood pressure so keep your feet on an elevated platform.
- Don’t stay in one place for too long. Move your legs and shake them. Always keep a piece of chocolate with you. Unwrap the chocolate immediately if you feel low or have a drop in blood pressure. Every bite will make you feel better.
Remember
If your blood pressure drops, let your family, friends and relatives know. Keep a glucose sachet with you at all times. Make a thick paste of glucose with a little water (around three sips) and tell them to act quickly if this happens. Use a spoon to place the paste in your mouth until you regain consciousness.
Keep your eyes open. You may fall asleep, which can be dangerous. Relax and eat something when you feel better. When you feel better, see a doctor immediately. Morning sickness is common in people with low blood pressure. They have difficulty getting up from their bed. They feel heavy in their legs after a bath. Any type of work takes a lot of effort. Take more sugar in your morning coffee or tea if you find yourself in such a situation. This will give you energy boosts and help you overcome morning sickness.
