For a long time, head lice has been a problem. Head lice can be as uncomfortable for those around the victim as it is for them. Some old remedies suggested using kerosene to get rid of lice. However, we don’t recommend such treatments. These natural remedies will work for most people.
What to do?
- Combine tofu with miso and soy milk to create a paste. Apply the paste to your hair until it is completely covered. Put a plastic shower cap over it and let it sit for at least one night. Wash the cap off in the morning. This will kill the adult lice, but the eggs must still be removed. Use a special lice brush to remove eggs.
- Essential oils can be used to kill lice. In 5 tablespoons olive oil, mix 16 drops of tea tree oil and 13 drops of lavender. This mixture should be tested on your elbow to determine if you have any skin allergies or sensitivities. If you don’t feel any irritation, rub the scalp gently. Wrap your hair with a towel and place a plastic shower cap on top. After 70 minutes, take off the cap and towel and wash well. Use a delousing brush to remove eggs after washing.
- Japanese rice vinegar and olive oils are great. Combine 3 ounces of warm vinegar with equal amounts of warm olive oil. This should be applied to your scalp. All of the ingredients should be used. To secure the shower cap on your head, place a headband over it. Allow this to sit for at least 90 minutes before removing it. Use a comb to remove eggs and dead lice from your head.
- Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse. As a home remedy for head lice, rinse your hair with full strength apple cider vinegar each morning and let it dry naturally. This should be done for three days. Mix half a cup each of apple cider vinegar and half a teaspoon of sesame oils for each night. Wrap your hair in a towel and let it sit for 90 minutes. Rinse out the hair before going to bed.
- In 4/10 of a cup of sesame oils, mix 11 drops of bergamot oil with 9 drops geranium oil. To ensure that there is no irritation on your skin, test it on a small area around your elbow. Then massage the scalp into the cover and let it rest for at least one night.
- Wash all clothing, linen, hats and hoods, as well as bedding, scarves, pillows, and scarves.
