It is best to avoid migraine-causing foods for at least a few weeks. You will notice a decrease in migraines if you gradually introduce migraine trigger foods one at a while to test for irritation. You can avoid a migraine by introducing small amounts. It can often be a combination of multiple foods.

For example, my brother can eat coffee, chocolate, and citrus, but if he eats a moccachino or an orange simultaneously it causes him to get a migraine. After you have eliminated migraine-causing foods, you must ensure that you eat regularly and consume plenty of water.

Migraines can often be triggered by hunger or dehydration. In case there is a long wait between meals, keep healthy snacks in your bag and a water bottle on you at all times. Omega 3 oil, zinc and magnesium are all good supplements for the brain. I find that taking a high quality multivitamin twice daily and omega 3 three times a day keeps my headaches at bay. Feverfew has many benefits, but I have yet to find a supplement that works.
