    Toronto Maple Leafs renew rosters with key players

    The Toronto Maple Leafs announced that they have acquired Max Pacioretty on a one-year contract, along with Steven Lorentz. They also extended the contract of Cade Webber for two years.

    Veteran Forward Max Pacioretty Joins The Leafs

    Pacioretty has been awarded a contract worth $873,770 after a successful professional test during training camp. He scored 23 points in 47 matches, including four goals and 19 assist, with the Washington Capitals.

    In 902 regular season games, the veteran forward has accumulated 668 points. These are evenly split between 330 goals, and 338 assists. He has also scored 50 points (25 goals and 25 assists) in 78 playoff matches.

    Pacioretty said that his training camp was unique:

    “It’s a very challenging one in the best possible way, exactly what I needed.”

    Steven Lorentz makes the transition from Panthers

    Lorentz, 28 years old, left the Florida Panthers and signed a $775,000. contract. In the 2023-24 regular-season, he recorded three points (one goal and two assists) in 38 games. He also added three more points (two assists, one goal) during 16 post-season games, culminating with a Stanley Cup victory in 2024.

    Cade Webber Secures Extension

    Webber’s new contract will begin in the 2025-2026 season. The initial two-way deal will transition to a single-way agreement for the 2026-2027 season, which has an average annual worth of $825,000.

    Webber played 38 games for Boston University in 2023-24, and contributed six assists. His efforts played an important role in propelling Boston University to the semifinals at the 2024 Frozen Four.
