    What Are Abdominal Migraines?

An abdominal migraine is a pain in the abdomen that does not include a headache. They are also known as periodic syndrome. They usually affect young children (usually girls between the ages 5 and 9, but can occasionally occur in adults. There seems to be a connection between stomach migraines and regular migraines.

    Let’s understand it

This is because stomach headaches often affect children whose families have had migraine headaches in the past. Most children who experience stomach migraines develop migraines as adults. This is because they start as young as puberty. To diagnose stomach migraine headaches, doctors cannot rely on symptoms alone.

Most abdominal headache symptoms are similar to a migraine but without the headache. These symptoms include pain in the abdomen that can last anywhere from 1 to 72 hours, nausea and vomiting, diarrhoea and sensitivity to light, sound, light and color, dizziness, dark circles under the eyes, and diarrhoea. Doctors have difficulty diagnosing abdominal migraines from these symptoms.

    Did you know?

A normal migraine is not a diagnostic test that can definitively prove what is happening. The child may have all or some of the symptoms listed above. Sometimes stomach migraines can be misdiagnosed as flu symptoms. However, symptoms can return up to three times in a single month. It is difficult to diagnose the exact cause. The key diagnostic tool is often the child’s family history.

Doctors often collect blood and urine samples to determine if there are any other serious causes. Doctors are becoming more aware that migraines can cause permanent damage. It is important to quickly determine if the problem is an abdominal migraine. At the moment, there is no known cause. Avoiding certain foods that can trigger migraines can help prevent abdominal migraines.

How To Prevent And Treat Headache?

    Keep in mind

Although there isn’t any scientific evidence to support this, some people believe that caffeine-containing drinks, chocolate and cheese can trigger migraines. Stress can also be a cause of abdominal migraines. The treatment is usually with a variety headache medications. There is no definitive treatment for children. They are treated the same way as a migraine of head. Due to the child’s age, painkillers may be used in addition to anti-nausea and sedative drugs.

Sometimes, Inderol can be prescribed to treat migraines in children. Propranolol, a preventative beta blocker, is also commonly used. Milder doses of Midrin, a prescription drug that is used to treat adult migraines, can be obtained. Midrin contains an ingredient that can increase serotonin levels. It is believed that migraines cause brain levels to drop. No matter what service or product you use, the most important thing is to get plenty of sleep and try to sleep in a dark, quiet place.
