Sinus headaches are unique in their location. The sinus headache primarily affects the forehead, but it can also affect the top of the head if left untreated. Pushing on the sinus cavities, such as your forehead and cheekbones, can make the headache worse. It is not something I recommend as the pain can be severe and lasts for hours. Sinusitis or infection can cause a sinus headache.

The next day, you can get relief by taking an antibiotic. I have read that sinus infections rarely cause headaches. I wonder if the author has ever had one. I suffered from chronic sinus infections for more than twenty years before I had sinus surgery several years ago.

An overly large turbinate was also removed. Since then, I have never had a sinus infection or a very painful sinus headache. I can tell that every sinus infection I have had for twenty years has resulted in a sinus headache. A sinus headache was not as severe as a migraine headache, but it was less painful than a migraine headache.

The sinus headache was so severe that I nearly fell over. While you wait for your antibiotic to kick-in and stop the pain, there is some relief you can do. Place a warm washcloth on the forehead, eyes, and cheeks. Repeat this several times daily.

You can use a hot steam vaperizer in your bedroom, or you can lie down in the bathroom while the hot water is running. You can also lie down in the tub while the shower is running, but the pressure from the water hitting the skin would make the pain worse. To flush the sinuses, it is important to drink plenty of fluids. To open the sinuses and speed up their drainage, use a saline nasal spray several times per day.

Although you may feel nauseated from the sinus infection, it is important to eat soup and applesauce. The sinus infection should not cause a hunger headache. You should also try to sleep as much as possible. You can feel no pain when you’re asleep, as sleep helps the body heal.
